Post-doctoral position opening
The Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Center and Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina has a post-doctoral position available for leading-edge computational research using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) to understand electronic properties for inorganic materials, and nanostructures. The candidate will carry out DFT calculations as well as develop new methods for understanding the conductivity and catalytic property in materials, nano-engineering for energy applications (ion and charge transport, role of defects, materials reliability), and solid-state electronic properties (interface processes, growth stability). Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or related fields are invited to apply. Candidates are expected to have a solid background in first-principles calculations and to help advance the scientific knowledge base in their field of expertise through innovative research and development.
Interested applicants may send your Resume to Professor Xue at Xue@cec.sc.edu
The application will be reviewed immediately until the position is filled.
